Now successfully commercially validated in diverse businesses and fields of use, including previously out-of-reach goals like discovery of the non-addictive pain blocker, the technology opens the floodgates to usher in an era of accelerated drug discovery.
Dr. Kambiz Shekdar, PhD invented Chromovert® Technology while he was a graduate student in the laboratory of his mentor, the late Nobel Laureate & King Faisal Prize winner Dr. Gunter Blobel, MD, PhD. at The Rockefeller University in New York City.
For more than 20 years, Dr. Shekdar has been pursuing applications of the same platform technology, now including pursuing the creation of a joint venture with Emirati stakeholders to implement the by-now validated research engine as part of a public-private partnership for drug discovery at scale in the UAE. Dr. Shekdar is also a member of the Abu Dhabi, UAE chapter of American Chambers of Commerce for which he is creating a Biotechnology Committee.
Previously, Drs. Shekdar and Blobel co-founded a private biotechnology company where Dr. Shekdar and his team developed the technology and applied it to diverse applications from strategic natural flavors research with The Coca-Cola Company, Kraft Foods and Nestle to cut salt and sugar in the diet to discovery and development of a clinical-stage non-addictive pain blocker fast-tracked by the FDA. The pain blocker was the subject of an IPO filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in January 2023.
